Mexico's INE formalizes launch of new national parties PAZ and Somos México

The National Electoral Institute (INE) officially began the activities of two newly registered national political parties, Construyendo Sociedades de Paz (PAZ) and Personas Sumando en 2025 (Somos México). INE delivered office space, furniture, parking permits and access cards within its facilities, alongside legislative compendiums, to enable the parties to exercise the rights and prerogatives granted by electoral law. The handover was carried out by INE officials Liliana Díaz de León Zapata, Alejandro Romero Millán and Alejandro Sosa Durán. The parties' registration becomes effective on 1 July 2026, and their representatives will take the oath of office at upcoming sessions of the INE General Council and the National Surveillance Commission. Subsequent meetings will determine the allocation of additional resources and prerogatives.
