Mexico's Push for Youth Participation and Party Transparency

Deputy Jennifer Nathalie González López inaugurated the Inter‑University Youth Parliament 2026 in the State of Mexico, gathering students from eight universities to discuss issues such as mental health, gender equality, press freedom, financial education and addiction prevention. The event aims to feed innovative proposals into public policy and maintain ongoing dialogue through a dedicated committee.

In Michoacán, deputy Brisa Arroyo Martínez opened a workshop on the legislative process and how to draft initiatives, collaborating with the Institute of Legislative Research and CANACINTRA to encourage citizen and business input into lawmaking.

Morena leader Ariadna Montiel warned that several groups seeking national party registration are resorting to historic political vices such as corporatism and clientelism, urging electoral authorities to enforce strict compliance.

The National Electoral Institute reiterated that all aspiring parties must submit detailed financial reports and undergo fiscal scrutiny to ensure transparency and accountability.

Separately, Azucena Arreola Trinidad, head of the Chamber of Deputies' Fisheries Commission, attended the 11th "Our Ocean" conference in Mombasa, Kenya, representing Mexico in discussions on marine pollution, protected areas, maritime security, climate‑ocean links, blue economy and sustainable fishing.
