Mexico's INE swears in new parties Somos México and PAZ, condemning insecurity

The General Council of Mexico's National Electoral Institute (INE) formally registered two new political parties, Somos México and PAZ. Party leaders Guadalupe Acosta Naranjo (Somos México) and Hugo Eric Flores Cervantes (PAZ) took the oath of office and delivered inaugural speeches.

Both leaders highlighted the country's escalating violence, urging the INE and authorities to halt illegal pre‑campaign activities, curb clientelism, and stop organized‑crime infiltration of politics. They called for restoring the rule of law, strengthening democratic institutions, and promoting a new class of political actors to address insecurity and protect democratic governance.
