Mexico's Infonavit advances Viviendas del Bienestar housing in Quintana Roo

The federal Infonavit program "Viviendas del Bienestar" is expanding in Quintana Roo, with the developer Vivo Grupo Inmobiliario reporting that around 3,000 units have already been delivered and that the initiative aims to build more than 60,000 homes during the current six‑year term. Prices are set near 600,000 pesos for 60‑square‑meter houses targeting families earning one to two minimum wages, a notable reduction from market prices that often exceed 900,000 pesos.

Infonavit chief Octavio Romero Oropeza visited the "Infonavit Luum Verde" site in Puerto Morelos, confirming progress on 1,120 units and outlining a goal of providing 12,112 right‑holders in the state with decent housing. He also met with four construction firms in Cancún to review eight additional projects. While a recent rain‑related incident in Veracruz caused damage to a small portion of a separate development, the developer stressed that this was an isolated case affecting only 1.3% of that project and does not reflect the quality of the Quintana Roo units.
