Mexico's Kenia López Rabadán Calls for Legal‑Based Reconciliation with United States

Kenia López Rabadán, president of the Mesa Directiva of Mexico’s Chamber of Deputies, said it is urgent to change the confrontational logic between Mexico and the United States. She urged a clear message of legality, sanctions against corrupt officials, and a shift toward cooperation so that Mexico is seen positively for investment and strategic purposes rather than associated with cartels, corruption or visa losses.

López Rabadán noted that the Mexican president’s recent meeting with President Trump during the World Cup final provided an opportunity for dialogue. She also condemned the detention of former governor Ernesto Ruffo Appel, describing him as a political prisoner, and warned that the so‑called “huachicol fiscal” involves collusion among municipal, state and federal authorities rather than a single individual.
