La Gran Escapada drives over 44 billion pesos in Mexico tourism

The 2026 edition of La Gran Escapada, Mexico’s national "Buen Fin del Turismo" campaign, ran from 18 to 21 June. It involved 6,557 establishments across the 32 states, offering more than 114,000 tourism experiences. The program generated an economic spill‑over of over 44 billion pesos, a 10 percent increase over 2025, and recorded roughly 280 million media and digital impacts.

Regional results highlighted the programme’s breadth: Puebla reported a 1,557‑billion‑peso contribution, while Hidalgo registered a 737‑billion‑peso impact. Participants enjoyed an average discount of about 35 percent on airlines, the Tren Maya, hotels and restaurants. About 65 percent of businesses said they would join again, and 70 percent of promotions were available both physically and online. The initiative was coordinated by the federal Secretariat of Tourism together with the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco Servytur).
