Mexico's Labor Party (PT) appoints new regional coordinators in Veracruz

The Partido del Trabajo (PT) has completed a restructuring of its organization in the state of Veracruz, appointing nine regional coordinators to oversee party activities in districts such as Coatepec, Perote and Huatusco. Federal deputy Adrián González Naveda said the coordinators will focus on territorial affiliation work, building base committees and identifying potential candidates, but they will not act as “padrinos” or place candidates; final candidate selections will be made by the national party leadership.

The reorganization follows PT’s recent growth in Veracruz, where the party increased the number of municipalities it governs from six to roughly thirty. The changes aim to strengthen the party’s regional presence ahead of the 2026‑2027 electoral cycle and to coordinate coalition strategies with Morena and the Partido Verde Ecologista de México.
