Mayor Marco Bonilla of Chihuahua Leads National Rankings as Other Mexican Mayors Score High

In the latest Rubrum survey of Mexico’s 31 state capitals, Chihuahua’s mayor Marco Bonilla topped the national rankings, securing first place for governmental performance, public‑service quality, closeness to citizens and perceived security. The same study placed him third nationwide for overall performance, first for closeness, third for security perception and sixth for service quality.

Enrique Galindo Ceballos, mayor of San Luis Potosí, also ranked highly in the Rubrum July evaluation, finishing second nationwide for public‑service quality and citizen closeness, fourth for overall performance and sixth for security.

In a separate CE Research poll, Mexico City’s mayor Alessandra Rojo de la Vega repeated as the best‑rated borough chief, attaining a 64 % approval rating for her administration’s performance and leading the intent‑to‑vote list with 55 %.

According to a Mitofsky ranking for June 2026, Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal, mayor of Nuevo Laredo, placed second nationally with 64.1 % approval, making her the top‑rated mayor in Tamaulipas.
