Mexico's Municipal DIF Celebrates Senior Citizens in Sports and Beauty Competitions

DIF senior citizens Olimpiadas de Oro beauty contest active aging

In Chiautempan, Tlaxcala, the municipal DIF recognized older adults who qualified for the federal stage of the Olimpiadas de Oro, advancing in five disciplines such as an 8‑km walk, swimming, dominoes, chess and dance. Municipal president Blanca Angulo Meneses praised the participants and highlighted the DIF’s role in promoting active aging.

In San Martín Texmelucan, Puebla, the municipal DIF and local government held the “La Belleza No Tiene Edad” contest to honor senior women, awarding the title of Reina DIF 2026 and naming runners‑up. DIF president Karla González Martínez and municipal president Juan Manuel Alonso Ramírez emphasized inclusion, respect and the social value of older adults.
