Mexico's PAN names new congressional leader in Puebla and elects first female state president in Tamaulipas

The National Action Party (PAN) appointed Celia Bonaga Ruiz as the new coordinator of its parliamentary group in the Puebla State Congress, replacing Marcos Castro Martínez. The change, confirmed during a regular session, is linked to the faction led by former Puebla mayor Eduardo Rivera Pérez and is intended to last only while PAN heads the Mesa Directiva.

In Tamaulipas, the PAN held an internal election in which, for the first time in the party’s 90‑year history in the state, a woman will serve as state president. The election process, overseen by municipal committee officials, concluded at 18:00 with vote counting to follow, marking a historic milestone for the party’s regional leadership.
