Mexico's PRI and PRD undergo internal party procedural updates
The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) formally installed its Municipal Political Council in Cadereyta de Montes, Querétaro, for the 2026‑2029 term. The ceremony was led by state party director Abigail Arredondo Ramos, who swore in 40 councilors and their alternates, and appointed José Félix Rojo as technical secretary. The council’s permanent political commission was also ratified.
In Mexico City, the Electoral Institute of the Capital (IECM) announced that the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) will receive its pending prerogative funds—about 81.8 million pesos for 2025‑2026—once the jurisdictional authorities issue a definitive order. IECM counselor Sonia Pérez Pérez clarified that the institute does not control the funds, which remain in a designated account pending the authorities’ decision, and a meeting with PRD officials is planned.
