Mexico's Profeco says Pacic basket stays under 910 pesos
The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) reported that the basic basket of the Pacic (Package Against Inflation and Hardship) remained below the government‑set ceiling of 910 pesos in its latest weekly monitoring. The agency said the lowest price recorded was 743.31 pesos for a basket purchased at the Bodega Aurrera store in Hermosillo, Sonora, and that supermarkets in Coacalco (Estado de México), Villahermosa (Tabasco) and Monterrey (Nuevo León) also complied with the agreement.
Profeco also highlighted a 6 % decline in the average diesel price since early April, with the cost per litre dropping from 27.10 pesos to 27.06 pesos – "La semana pasada lo tuvimos en $27.10 pesos y aquí se observa cómo va disminuyendo el precio por litro, hasta llegar a $27.06 pesos". The agency launched the Operativo Vacacional de Verano 2026 on 16 July, installing 16 service modules in airports and 17 at bus terminals to assist travelers. In its remittance calculator, Profeco identified Financiera para el Bienestar (Finabien) as the most favorable option, delivering 7,122.36 pesos for a US$400 transfer.
