Mexico's Profeco suspends Cimera Gym Club in San Pedro Cholula over consumer violations

The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) placed suspension seals on the Cimera Gym Club, also known as Club Deportivo Cimera, in San Pedro Cholula, Puebla. The gym, part of the Fundación Club Alpha, was found to have breached the Federal Consumer Protection Law by failing to display service prices, omitting mandatory maintenance fees, not providing clear contract terms, and issuing inadequate payment receipts. Inspectors identified five separate infractions and ordered the immediate suspension of all commercial activities until the violations are corrected. Profeco warned that unauthorized removal of the seals could result in fines amounting to several million pesos and further legal action. The enforcement action is part of a broader series of inspections of gyms and stationery stores ahead of the back‑to‑school period, aimed at ensuring businesses comply with consumer‑rights regulations.
