Mexico's Puebla and Metepec Open Free Public Health Clinics

In Puebla's capital, mayor Pepe Chedraui inaugurated three free medical units in the Los Pinos, Chapultepec and Anzures neighborhoods. The centers provide general consultations, preventive screenings for diabetes, hypertension and obesity, dental care, optical exams, pharmacy services and laboratory tests, all at no cost. A local resident praised the program, saying, “Don Pepe Chedraui está haciendo las cosas muy bien por el bienestar de todos los ciudadanos poblanos.”

In the neighboring municipality of Metepec, mayor Fernando Flores Fernández launched the Clínica Red de Salud Familias Felices in the Las Marinas district. The clinic offers free general and specialty medical consultations, dental and optometry services, a catalogue of more than 220 essential medicines, and laboratory analyses. Residents obtain a plastic card after free on‑site registration to access the services.

Both initiatives are part of municipal efforts to eliminate economic barriers to health care and improve preventive health outcomes for thousands of local families.
