Mexico's Puebla charrería finals and Ecuador's Azuay shine at youth sports championships
In Puebla, Mexico, the 33rd National Children’s, Juvenile and Escaramuzas Championship focused on the women’s division on Sunday. Twenty‑three teams competed across four age categories, with Rancho El Mezquite of Guanajuato and Nobleza Charra Oro of San Luis Potosí among the top performers securing qualification spots for the finals.
In Azuay, Ecuador, athletes delivered a standout day at the 2026 National Pre‑Juvenile Games. Boxers Nexi Granda, Valentina Cárdenas and Geraldine Boya each captured gold medals, while swimmer Matías Aguilar won the 1,500‑metre freestyle. The province also earned medals in judo, skating and relay swimming, finishing second in the overall medal table behind Guayas.
