Mexico's Puerto Vallarta markets and Guanajuato festivals boost summer tourism
The municipal markets of Puerto Vallarta—Río Cuale, Emiliano Zapata, 5 de Diciembre and Ixtapa—have been promoted by the city government, led by architect Luis Ernesto Munguía González, as summer food routes for visitors. Initiatives include guided tours, chef demonstrations, craft stalls and fresh seafood offerings to attract local and foreign tourists.
The state‑wide Gastronomic Season "¡Sí Sabe!" in Guanajuato continues from 23 July to 30 August, featuring 16 events in 14 municipalities. Organized by the Secretaría de Turismo e Identidad (SECTURI), the program highlights regional dishes, local products and cultural identity, creating opportunities for traditional cooks, producers and tourism service providers.
