Mexico's 'Que Siga la Democracia' appeals INE denial of party registration

The political grouping Que Siga la Democracia has filed an appeal with the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF) to overturn the National Electoral Institute's (INE) decision to refuse its registration as a national political party. Leader Edgar Garza Ancira said the organization complied with all legal requirements and dismissed allegations of money‑laundering reports from the Financial Intelligence Unit. The INE cited 92 alleged irregular affiliations – including 77 cases where photographs were allegedly altered with artificial intelligence and 15 instances of forged signatures – as well as unreported expenses of 1.4 million pesos. Garza maintains those cases were already discounted and that the group still exceeds the minimum membership threshold. The group expects the tribunal to grant registration, positioning itself as a potential third option for the 27 July elections.
