Argentina rolls out free cultural and tourism programs for winter break

Argentina's municipalities and provincial ministries have launched a series of free cultural and tourism activities for the July winter school break. In Rosario, the "Planes que son un 10" campaign offers more than 400 free events across six districts, including museum visits, theater, cinema and sports. Santa Fe's "Vacaciones Copadas" brings theater, circus and a mobile cinema to towns throughout the province, emphasizing access and territorial equity.

Córdoba hosts the fifth edition of the Festival Música Barroca de Dos Mundos, featuring free concerts in historic churches and museums, while the Bancor cultural centre presents three free exhibitions covering football memorabilia, Cordovan art and immersive digital art. In the Punilla Valley town of Tanti, two gastronomic festivals – the Fiesta de las Cucharas and Tanti a la Estaca – combine traditional food with live music and guided hikes. Entre Ríos promotes “turismo de cercanía,” encouraging residents to explore local thermal springs, rivers and historic towns during the two‑week recess. Additional free programs are offered in San Luis, Bariloche, Olavarría and Mendoza, providing families with a wide range of affordable cultural and recreational options throughout the country.
