Mexico's Secretariat of Culture announces new theatrical and musical performances

The Mexican Secretariat of Culture, through the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), is presenting several cultural performances in Mexico.

The theatrical production ‘Carpa: Herencia de rebote’ explores contemporary masculinity and emotional inheritance. Using the metaphor of amateur fronton (pelota vasca), the piece utilizes biodrama and contemporary dance to examine the relationships, silences, and identities passed between fathers and sons.

Additionally, the National Museum of Art (MUNAL) will host free musical recitals. On August 29, guitarist Arody García will perform a program spanning from the Baroque era to contemporary works, including pieces by Bach and Scarlatti. On August 30, pianist Alejandro Vela will present a program transitioning from European Romanticism to American jazz and Mexican musical traditions.
