Mexico's SEP announces free passes for Formula 1 Grand Prix
Mario Delgado, head of Mexico's Secretariat of Public Education (SEP), has announced a campaign to distribute free double passes for the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix. The initiative, supported by President Claudia Sheinbaum, aims to democratize access to high-level sporting events and encourage youth engagement.
A total of 45 double passes, providing 90 individual entries, will be distributed for the Friday practice sessions, Saturday qualifying, and Sunday's main race. The giveaway is specifically targeted at active students attending public high schools (bachillerato) in Mexico City and the Metropolitan Area.
To participate, interested students must join a live broadcast on the SEP's official TikTok account (@sep_mx) on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 17:00 hours. During the live stream, Delgado will provide instructions for participating in general knowledge and civics dynamics to win the entries. The SEP stated that strict registration controls will be implemented to prevent ticket reselling.
