Mexico's Sheinbaum addresses allegations of digital interference
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has highlighted allegations regarding coordinated digital interference aimed at removing her from office. During a presentation of an interview with Nadia Beller, the former partner of Argentine political consultant Fernando Cerimedo, Beller claimed that Cerimedo intended to participate in Mexican elections by supporting a candidate to unseat Sheinbaum.
Beller described strategies designed to distort public debate through “cognitive fraud” and “dirty war” tactics. These alleged methods include the use of bot farms to coordinate social media attacks, the manipulation of trending topics, and the purchase of influencers to influence public perception and electoral processes.
