Mexico's Sheinbaum Makes Parque del Jaguar Free for Nationals, Cuts Tulum Site Fees

President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum announced the "Plan Tulum Renace" in the Diario Oficial de la Federación, granting free entry to the Parque del Jaguar for Mexican visitors. Foreign tourists will pay a 100‑peso fee for the park itself.

The decree also sets a unified charge for access to the Parque Nacional Tulum and the archaeological zone: 80 pesos for Mexican nationals and either 165 or 265 pesos for foreign visitors, depending on the source. These rates take effect on 20 July 2026 and will remain through the 2026‑2027 fiscal years. The measures aim to lower tourism costs, provide fiscal incentives, and improve park infrastructure, including an eco‑friendly parking area and modified entry arches.
