The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) has launched the second stage of its routine conservation program for the 2,613 km of toll‑free federal highways in Veracruz, aiming to improve safety and mobility for road users.

At the same time, SICT reports that the two‑kilometre, two‑lane‑per‑direction access distributor to the Port of Veracruz is 80% complete. The $47.1 million project, which began in July 2025, is slated to open in August, will cut travel time by up to 25 minutes, generate about 2,460 jobs and serve roughly 780,000 residents of Veracruz and nearby municipalities.
