Somos México Party Defends Name and Pink Color During Formation

Mexico’s newly registered national party Somos México (Somos MX) is preparing to convene its National Council and a citizen advisory council on 25 July to create specialized cabinets that will draft a Platform Alternative of the Nation covering health, education, security, human rights, democracy, culture, inclusion and women’s issues.

The party’s leadership, including coordinator Roger Cornelio Sosa, says it will defend its name, slogan “La fuerza que nos une” and its distinctive pink color in court after legal challenges were filed. It plans assemblies in the 13 municipalities of Campeche and a state‑wide assembly to choose local leadership, aiming to solidify its structure ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Somos México positions itself as a firm opposition and a real alternative for change, emphasizing the restoration of the Republic, democratic institutions and the separation of powers, and pledging quotas for youth, social causes and gender representation within its candidate lists.
