Mexico's State Justice Tribunal and INE adopt gender equality and transparency measures

The Tribunal de Justicia Administrativa del Estado de México (TRIJAEM) and the civil association 50 Más Uno signed a General Collaboration Agreement to strengthen substantive equality, incorporate a gender perspective into institutional professionalisation, and promote a culture of respect for human rights, public ethics and non‑discrimination. The pact includes proposals for state and municipal legislative reforms, and the organisation of conferences, courses, seminars, diplomas, workshops and specialised congresses for public servants. TRIJAEM highlighted that six of its seven administrative units are headed by women and that women constitute 236 of its 400 staff members.

Separately, the Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE) formalised its admission as a full member of the Red de Transparencia y Acceso a la Información (RTA), an international network of more than 40 electoral authorities. The membership, to be considered at the network’s meeting in Buenos Aires in October, aims to enhance proactive transparency, improve the publication of electoral data, combat disinformation, provide training for public servants, promote open electoral data, protect personal data and encourage citizen participation.
