Mexico electoral authorities manage various legal and administrative processes
Mexican electoral institutions are managing several legal and administrative developments ahead of future election cycles. The Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF) has issued several rulings, including the dismissal of challenges by Morena and PT regarding local deputy elections in Coahuila, and an order for the National Electoral Institute (INE) to investigate a CNDH promotional video that linked the PRI to historical political violence. Additionally, the TEPJF ordered the INE to expand its verification process for electoral observers to include state and municipal social program officials.
On the administrative front, the INE in Tamaulipas successfully completed an external audit of its Quality Management System, renewing its certification for the third consecutive year. In Veracruz, the INE has begun a national sample verification of the electoral roll, involving home visits to assess the accuracy of citizen data for the 2027 elections. Meanwhile, in Sinaloa, the IEES concluded regional training sessions to prepare for the 2026-2027 local electoral process.
