Mexico's tequila sector expands through entrepreneurship and technical training
The tequila industry in Mexico is seeing growth through both specialized entrepreneurship and professional technical training. Tequila Design, a Guadalajara-based firm, is celebrating ten years of business by focusing on hyper-personalized tequila products. Founder Diego Castro has expanded the company into five business lines, including corporate and social sectors, leveraging a global trend where consumers prioritize emotional value and customization.
Simultaneously, the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) and the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT) have graduated 39 new tequila technicians. This brings the total number of professionals trained through their joint diploma program to 1,065. The curriculum covers essential industry aspects such as raw material management, fermentation processes, environmental regulations, and international trade, aimed at maintaining the prestige of the Tequila Denomination of Origin.
