Mexico's Tourism Secretary Announces HYROX Acapulco 2026 and Tulum Park Upgrades

Mexico's Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, presented the HYROX Acapulco 2026 fitness competition, scheduled for 5‑6 September. The event expects more than 13,000 athletes, a rise from the 6,500 participants in its first edition, and is projected to generate an economic spill‑over of over 200 million pesos for the Acapulco region, boosting off‑season tourism.

Three weeks after unveiling the Tulum Renace plan, Rodríguez Zamora visited the Parque del Jaguar to oversee the rollout of new measures, including a tourist corridor that will replace existing entry booths and improve access to the park’s beaches and archaeological zone. The project, whose executive design is underway, aims to begin construction before the end of the year. Entry to public areas of the park remains free, while the plan seeks to enhance mobility, reduce costs, and support local artisans and service providers.
