Mexico's USICAMM exam error hits thousands of teachers

The Unidad del Sistema para la Carrera de las Maestras y los Maestros (USICAMM) administered the 2026 Promotion Horizontal exam to 52,974 teachers, about 97% of the expected participants. Many teachers reported receiving an exam that did not match their profile, prompting USICAMM to notify them by email that the test would need to be re‑programmed.

During the same online session, USICAMM identified “conductas indebidas” such as the use of mobile phones, identity fraud with printed photographs, and a reported offer of 8,000 pesos for assistance with the exam. The irregularities have sparked demands from the teaching community for transparent handling of the re‑evaluation and assurance that the process remains equitable for all participants.
