Meyer Children's Hospital inaugurates new pediatric medical hub

Meyer Children's Hospital (Aou Meyer Irccs) has inaugurated a new pediatric medical hub in its east wing to address increasing clinical complexity and patient demand. This reorganization aims to optimize hospital logistics by freeing up space in the west wing to create new inpatient beds dedicated entirely to surgical services.

The new medical hub will operate Monday through Friday, from 7:00 to 19:00, providing outpatient services, Day Hospital (DH), and Day Service. The facility includes a dedicated reception and orientation area designed to manage administrative tasks and reduce corridor crowding. The inpatient area features 12 beds, including eight in an open-plan layout for continuous clinical monitoring, two isolation boxes for immunocompromised patients, and a Day Hospital room with two beds.

Regional officials noted that the project is part of a broader effort to integrate high-complexity care with clinical research and innovation, while strengthening the regional pediatric network.
