Mezzo channel announces October musical programming on tivùsat

The Mezzo channel, available on the tivùsat satellite platform, has announced its musical programming for October. The autumn schedule focuses on international performers and a variety of musical genres.

Opera productions from the Dutch National Opera will be featured, including Beethoven’s Fidelio, Dvorák’s Rusalka, and Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra. The programming also includes a tribute to American composer Steve Reich for his 90th birthday, featuring a premiere by the Colin Currie Group.

Symphonic music will highlight conductor Klaus Màkelà and pianist Khatia Buniatishvili. Additionally, a cycle dedicated to Polish baroque and symphonic traditions will be presented. Jazz programming will focus on guitarists such as Stochelo Rosenberg, Thomas Dutronc, Marc Ribot, and John Scofield. Contemporary dance will include works by Ted Brandsen and Crystal Pite, while the New Frontiers section will feature pianists including Ludovico Einaudi and Hania Rani.
