MFE-MediaForEurope reports H1 2026 profit turnaround
MFE-MediaForEurope reported a significant turnaround in profitability for the first half of 2026, despite a 6% decline in consolidated revenues. The broadcasting group's adjusted EBIT reached €145.7 million, a €153 million improvement over the pro forma loss of €7.3 million recorded during the same period in 2025. Adjusted net results also rose to €50.5 million, up from €6.9 million in the prior-year period.
Consolidated revenues fell from €3.14 billion to €2.95 billion, a decline attributed to a weak advertising market and the absence of FIFA World Cup coverage, which was broadcast by competitors. However, the group's Entertainment division—covering operations in Italy, Spain, and the DACH region—served as a primary growth driver. This segment saw adjusted EBIT rise to €163.7 million, supported by a €216.9 million reduction in operating costs.
Chairman and CEO Pier Silvio Berlusconi noted that the group has achieved over €200 million in efficiencies within the Entertainment division in the first six months, exceeding the pace initially outlined in the company's strategic plan. Additionally, net debt decreased to €857.1 million from €959.2 million at the start of the year. MFE confirmed its 2026 guidance, expecting improved operating profitability and cash generation for the full year.
