MFK Karviná withdraws appeal, opening Czech top‑flight spot for Táborsko

MFK Karviná announced that it will withdraw its appeal against the FAČR Ethical Committee’s decision that excluded the club from the Czech First League for alleged match‑fixing. The Ligová fotbalová asociace (LFA) praised the move as responsible and said it helps maintain the stability of professional competitions and protects the national coefficient.

With Karviná moving to the second tier, the vacant place in the 16‑team league will be offered first to FC SILON Táborsko, which finished second in the recent second‑league season. Táborsko is assessing the logistical challenge of meeting first‑division stadium standards, including a possible temporary home in České Budějovice. If Táborsko declines, the offer will pass to Artis Brno and subsequently to Dukla Prague, the club recently relegated from the top flight.

The decision also means Karviná will lose its qualification for European competition that it earned as MOL Cup winners, and the league will start the new season with a full roster of clubs.
