MFT wins WWE Tag Team Championships on SmackDown

The faction MFT, consisting of Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, captured the WWE Tag Team Titles during a Triple Threat Match on SmackDown. They defeated the teams of Damian Priest and R-Truth, as well as the AAA World Tag Team Champions, The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar). The victory was secured after the brothers executed a double powerbomb on R-Truth to secure the pinfall.

Following the match, the new champions celebrated in the ring with their father, the Tongan wrestling legend Haku. Following the title change, Shinsuke Nakamura released a digital exclusive teasing a mystery partner who will join him to challenge MFT. Nakamura described his upcoming ally as “experienced, vicious, deadly” and a “ticking time bomb,” leading to speculation that the partner may be Hiromu Takahashi.
