MG-050 highway leads in Minas Gerais traffic accidents

The MG-050 highway recorded the highest number of traffic accidents among state highways in Minas Gerais during the first half of 2026. Data compiled from the Highway Police and the Minas Gerais State Secretariat of Justice and Public Security show that between January and June, there were 847 incidents, resulting in 218 injuries and 22 deaths.

This represents a 10.3% increase in occurrences compared to the first half of 2025, when 768 incidents were recorded on the same highway. The number of injured persons saw a slight increase of 1.4%, rising from 215 to 218.
