MG Cyber and BMW Neue Klasse M concepts showcase high‑performance electric SUVs

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, MG unveiled the Cyber concept, a five‑metre‑long electric SUV positioned as a flagship model above the MG S9. The design, likened to a cut‑price Ferrari Purosangue, features aggressive front styling, large alloy wheels and a spacious silhouette. MG indicated the vehicle may use an upgraded IM6 powertrain delivering around 532 kW (802 Nm) and a range of at least 650 km, with a target launch no earlier than 2029.

Separately, BMW presented the Neue Klasse M concept, highlighting the brand’s first fully electric M car. The prototype employs four individual electric motors, an 800‑volt architecture, and integrates the battery packs into the axle structures to improve rigidity and weight distribution. BMW also mentioned an internal‑combustion version will accompany the electric model, underscoring the company’s dual‑path strategy for future performance vehicles.

Both concepts illustrate a shift among premium manufacturers toward high‑performance electric drivetrains and distinctive design language aimed at expanding the appeal of EVs in the SUV and sports car segments.
