MG has announced the debut of its new MGU9 fully electric pickup truck, selecting Australia as the first global market for the vehicle's launch. Positioned as a ‘lifestyle ute,’ the vehicle is designed to balance everyday practicality with recreational capability.
The MGU9 is powered by dual electric motors producing 325 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque, supported by a 102.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Charging capabilities include 115 kW DC fast charging, which can replenish the battery from 20% to 80% in about 42 minutes, and 11 kW AC charging.
Key utility features include an all-wheel-drive system, four-wheel electronic air suspension, and a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg. The vehicle also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, allowing users to power external tools or camping equipment via a 6.6 kW outlet. Interior amenities include a 12.3-inch infotainment display, a JBL eight-speaker audio system, and heated, cooled, and massaging front seats.
