MG G50 becomes Vietnam's cheapest MPV at 395 million dong
MG has slashed the price of its G50 MPV in Vietnam to a net 395 million VND (about $16,000) after a series of discounts, making it the lowest‑priced model in the segment. The base MT version was originally listed at 559 million VND, reduced to 445 million VND, with an additional 50 million VND discount for repeat customers, bringing the final price to 395 million VND.
The G50, a 7‑ or 8‑seat mid‑size MPV built on the 2025 VIN platform, offers a 1.5‑litre turbocharged engine (169 hp, 285 Nm) and front‑wheel drive. While the discounted version carries basic equipment, higher‑spec AT DEL and AT LUX trims remain priced at 698 million and 749 million VND respectively. The aggressive pricing puts the G50 on par with small A‑segment cars such as the Hyundai Grand i10 and Toyota Wigo, but with considerably larger interior space.
The move intensifies competition in Vietnam’s MPV market, where rivals like Mitsubishi Xpander, Toyota Veloz Cross, Hyundai Stargazer and Suzuki XL7 have been offering their own promotions. Analysts expect the price cut to pressure competitors to either lower prices or add features to retain market share.
