MG IM8 electric SUV and Lexus LX 700h debut in Vietnam

Chinese‑owned MG Motor unveiled the MG IM8, a large EREV SUV capable of more than 400 km of pure‑electric driving per charge. The model is offered in rear‑wheel‑drive and all‑wheel‑drive versions, with power outputs of 308 hp and 523 hp respectively, and total driving ranges of up to 1,605 km under the CLTC cycle. It features an 800‑V architecture, fast DC charging, a 27.1‑inch Mini‑LED cockpit and optional six‑seat configuration with premium amenities.

Lexus introduced the LX 700h, the first hybrid‑powered flagship SUV to arrive in Vietnam. The F Sport‑spec vehicle pairs a twin‑turbo 3.5‑litre V6 engine with an electric motor for a combined 457 hp and 790 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0‑100 km/h in 6.5 seconds. It comes with a 10‑speed automatic transmission, all‑wheel drive, a 12.3‑inch digital instrument cluster, Mark Levinson audio and wireless charging.

A broader gallery of Southeast Asian auto shows highlighted additional upcoming models, including the Subaru BRZ 2027, BMW iX3 2026 in Indonesia, Honda Accord 2027, Mercedes‑Benz GLA 2027, and a hybrid Toyota Land Cruiser slated for Vietnam later in the year.
