MG launches updated MG4 EV Urban on new E3 platform

MG has introduced an updated version of its electric vehicle, the MG4 EV Urban, built on the new E3 platform from the SAIC Group. This new platform utilizes cell-to-body technology, integrating the battery into the vehicle's structure to increase strength and reduce production costs.

The updated model is ten centimeters longer than its predecessor, providing increased interior space and a longer wheelbase. It has also transitioned from rear-wheel drive to front-wheel drive. The vehicle is offered with two battery options: a 43 kWh pack and a 54 kWh pack, providing ranges between approximately 316 km and 405 km.

In certain markets, MG is offering financial incentives to promote the model, including a $2,000 cash-back offer for purchases completed by the end of September. The entry-level variant is positioned as a competitive option in the budget electric vehicle segment.
