MG Motor launches MG4 Urban electric hatchback in Brazil

Chinese automaker MG Motor introduced the MG4 Urban to the Brazilian market, offering three trims priced between R$ 129,990 and R$ 149,990. The entry‑level Comfort 43 kWh version delivers 150 hp and a certified range of up to 299 km, while the top‑of‑the‑range Luxury 54 kWh model provides 160 hp and an extended range of 358 km. All versions come with a seven‑year/150,000‑km vehicle warranty and an eight‑year/160,000‑km battery guarantee.

The arrival of the MG4 Urban coincides with the phase‑out of the first‑generation MG4, which debuted in Brazil eight months ago. That earlier model, priced from R$ 169,600 to R$ 229,800 and available in versions up to 435 hp, has sold 732 units and is the brand’s best‑selling car locally. MG Motor’s Brazil head of marketing indicated the older hatch may be discontinued as the more affordable Urban line gains traction.
