MG Motor rolls out MG4 Urban and teases new emotional EV models
MG Motor has launched the MG4 Urban, an entry‑level electric hatchback built on the company’s Scalable Platform (MSP). The Urban version is equipped with a 51 kWh battery delivering a WLTP‑rated range of about 350 km and an electric motor output of 125 kW (170 hp), enabling 0‑100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. Priced competitively, it aims to attract buyers seeking a compact EV for daily commuting and occasional longer trips, positioning itself against rivals such as the Renault Zoe and Volkswagen ID.3.
Design vice‑president Jozef Kaban highlighted the Cyberster electric roadster as the brand’s “ambassador” and indicated that MG plans to expand its lineup with additional “emotional” EVs. He hinted at forthcoming concept cars to be unveiled at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, including a B‑segment electric hatchback slated for 2027 and another design‑focused electric model. Kaban also reaffirmed the importance of performance heritage, suggesting that future models will integrate the brand’s XPower DNA.
