MG unveils electric cars in A Coruña following SAIC's Ferrol investment
On 28 July, MG, the European brand of China’s SAIC Motor, held a public showcase at Marineda City in A Coruña. The event, part of the MG Summer Experience 2026 roadshow, offered test‑drives of the electric MG4, the ZS Hybrid+ and the HS plug‑in hybrid, and fielded questions about electric‑drive technology, hybrid systems and Spanish government incentives.
The exhibition comes weeks after SAIC began logistics operations at the Ferrol port and announced a €200 million industrial project that will span Ferrol and As Pontes. The plan foresees a vehicle production plant with an annual capacity of 120 000 cars, creating roughly 1 000 direct jobs and many more indirect positions, with a target start‑up in 2028.
