MG ZS compact SUV receives hybrid and technology updates in Asia

The MG ZS compact SUV is receiving significant updates across Southeast Asian and East Asian markets. In Vietnam, the upcoming 2026 model has been spotted undergoing testing, likely featuring a hybrid powertrain. This new version is expected to utilize a 1.5L four-cylinder engine paired with a dedicated 3-speed hybrid transmission (DHT), producing 136 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The vehicle is also anticipated to include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and updated interior technology, such as dual 12.3-inch screens.

In Taiwan, the 2027 model year update for the MG ZS focuses on enhanced comfort and safety features. The high-end Cool version now includes ventilated front seats as standard. Safety upgrades include the MG Pilot 2.0 Level 2 intelligent driving assistance system, which features adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. The Taiwanese model maintains a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a CVT, emphasizing smooth urban driving, while also offering aesthetic upgrades like blacked-out trim and 17-inch wheels.
