MGM+ acquires rights to British thriller Secret Service

MGM+ has acquired the North American and Latin American distribution rights, as well as the rights for Italy, for the British espionage thriller ‘Secret Service’. The series originally premiered on ITV and ITVX in the United Kingdom.

Starring Gemma Arterton, the drama is based on the novel by Tom Bradby. The plot follows a senior MI6 officer who uncovers evidence suggesting a high-ranking UK politician may be acting as a Russian asset. The production is handled by Potboiler Productions, with international distribution managed by All3Media International.

The series features an ensemble cast including Rafe Spall and Alex Kingston. It was directed by James Marsh and Farren Blackburn. Following its UK debut, the series has already been licensed to various broadcasters and streamers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Georgia, Japan, and Israel.
