MGM+ to premiere New Wave music docuseries in November

MGM+ will premiere ‘New Wave’, a four-part docuseries exploring the history of the influential music movement that spanned from 1977 to 1987. The series is scheduled to begin streaming on November 23, with new episodes released every Monday.

The documentary examines how New Wave transitioned alternative culture into the mainstream, impacting music, fashion, and pop culture. It highlights the movement's role in embracing individuality, women, the queer community, and new technology.

Directed by Douglas Tirola and featuring consulting producer Richard Blade, the series includes interviews with iconic musicians such as Billy Idol, John Taylor of Duran Duran, Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo, Stewart Copeland of The Police, and members of Talking Heads, The B-52s, and The Smiths. The series will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
