Mägo de Oz members face internal conflict over film premiere

Internal tensions have surfaced within the Spanish band Mägo de Oz following the premiere of the film ‘Fiesta Pägana’ at the Morelia International Film Festival in Mexico. Band leader and drummer Txus di Fellatio expressed significant dissatisfaction with singer Rafa Blas and guitarist Ix Valieri, alleging they attended the premiere without informing the rest of the group.

Txus di Fellatio stated that the unauthorized trip contributed to the cancellation of a scheduled concert in Milan, as the two members reportedly prioritized the film event over the performance. While the drummer has not yet removed them from the lineup to ensure the continuity of the tour and the livelihoods of those dependent on the band, he suggested that changes may occur once the current 60-concert tour concludes.

The film, directed by Álvaro Brechner, is inspired by the band's history but remains the subject of legal disputes. The group has previously sought legal action against the production company regarding the unauthorized use of song titles. Despite these conflicts, Blas and Valieri participated in the film's soundtrack through their parallel project, ON.
