MHP Deputy Mehmet Fendoğlu Praises Devlet Bahçeli at Diyarbakır Conference

The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) held its Sur district ordinary congress at the Devlet Theatre Conference Hall in Yenişehir, Diyarbakır. In the single‑list election, Fırat Özer was chosen as district chair.

MHP Malatya MP Mehmet Fendoğlu delivered the opening remarks, stressing that the party leader Devlet Bahçeli’s positions have remained consistent since his 2011 statements. He recalled Bahçeli’s handshake with the DEM Party group leader at the October 1, 2024 parliamentary opening and highlighted Bahçeli’s 22 October 2024 comment, criticizing former party members who now oppose him. Fendoğlu quoted Bahçeli’s 2011 speech urging unity and denouncing division, concluding that the party’s foresight had been ignored.

The event was attended by MHP Diyarbakır provincial chair Miktat Arslan, regional board members, district chairs and party activists.
