MHP issues stern warning to Deputy İzzet Ulvi Yönter
MHP Istanbul Deputy İzzet Ulvi Yönter has reportedly received a stern warning from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leadership following his refusal to sign a framework law proposal and subsequent social media activity.
Party sources suggest that Yönter, who has been absent from Ankara and group meetings, is attempting to rebuild his lost political influence by cultivating an image of opposition to the current political process. This tension follows Yönter's departure from his role as Deputy Chairman. Following a social media post stating, "I have one life; let it be sacrificed for the motherland, the nation, the state, and my cause," the MHP headquarters reportedly issued a warning for him to "fill your term of deputyhood quietly."
MHP Group Deputy Chairman Erkan Akçay previously addressed Yönter's absence from Parliament, attributing it to health issues.
