MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli announces 15th Grand Congress date

Devlet Bahçeli, leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), has announced that the party’s 15th Ordinary Grand Congress will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2027. The announcement followed a joint meeting involving the Central Executive Board, the Central Disciplinary Board, and party members of parliament.

Bahçeli noted that provincial and district congresses have been completed. During his statement, he addressed geopolitical developments, claiming that Turkey is being subjected to a multi-faceted strategic encirclement spanning from the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa to the Middle East, the Caucasus, and Turkestan. He emphasized that any attempts to limit Turkey’s regional influence or sovereignty must account for the nation’s historical legacy and the will of its people.

Additionally, Bahçeli commented on relations within the Turkic world, rejecting approaches that attempt to separate Turkey from its Turkic counterparts. He highlighted the importance of the upcoming Organization of Turkic States Summit in Ankara and stressed the need for direct dialogue and mutual respect between brotherly nations, specifically referencing the relationship between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
